Most - The Building Authority has urged the city of Most to remove the construction on 2nd Square. The reason is a violation of the law during its construction. The footbridge between the tax office and the post office is wider and encroaches on private land, said Most's mayor Vlastimil Vozka (Association of Most Residents) to reporters today.

The second square in the city center, whose historic core was sacrificed in the 1970s for coal mining, was constructed by the former city leadership. It has been open to the public since last August. "The land happens to belong to the current council member. We are returning to the state before the occupancy permit process. We will try to reach an agreement on a solution so that the bridge, which is a construction in the public interest, remains preserved," Vozka stated.
In connection with the proceedings for the removal of the construction and the preparation of new documentation, the city will incur additional costs according to Vozka. "We will seek compensation from the individuals who caused the current situation," he added.
The square was created behind the Repre cultural center around the new building of the tax office. The area is divided into sections for pedestrians and cars, with drivers gaining a new parking lot for 111 vehicles. In addition to the tree-lined alley, benches, and public lighting, the new square is adorned with stone drinking fountains and a restored statue of Saint Procopius.
The most attractive area in the city center is set to be the 1st Square, which became part of a new development in 1998 and features a renovated fountain from the original square of the same name. Work on the construction of a shopping center, residential buildings with approximately 100 apartments, two-story underground garages for 350 cars, and a recreation and entertainment center should begin as early as February or March. The square is expected to take on a new look within two years.
