Pribyslav - Pribyslav in the Havlickuv Brod region will insulate the cultural center by next autumn, which was built in the 1960s. The building will also have new windows, heating, and air conditioning. The construction company is already doing initial work there. The film club will temporarily move to the hall of the elementary school, where theater artists will also find facilities. Relocating equipment from the cultural center is quite challenging, which also applies to theatrical backdrops, an extensive costume department, canvases behind the curtain, or office equipment, Mayor Martin Kamarád (ODS) told reporters today.

"We rented one shipping container, where we are storing items that are difficult to move," said the mayor. Other equipment is being stored by city workers in a former store in the local part of Keřkov. Some items may remain in a small part of the cultural center that the construction will not affect. "We'll see if we will need to rent any additional spaces," he said.

The move will take over a month. The heavy fabric curtain from the hall, where film and theater performances take place, will probably not be removed. According to the mayor, it is uncertain whether they would be able to get the curtain back. Therefore, it may just be rolled up and covered with plastic. The seats in the auditorium will stay since they can be washed.

The cultural center is located opposite the castle and was completed in 1969. The building with a flat roof, which with its glass front wall resembles a television screen, was created according to the design of Slovak architect Milan Šavlík. In 1999, director Alice Nellis filmed her feature film debut Ene bene in the Pribyslav cultural center.

The repairs of the cultural center will cost a total of 36 million crowns, with the city receiving a grant of six million. The front wall of the building, made up of large simple glass panes, is in poor condition. It should be replaced with insulated double glazing. Instead of gas heating, the cultural center will be heated with a heat pump connected to a borehole after the repair. Construction workers will also add air conditioning to the spacious foyer, which the town hall wants to use more extensively thanks to the insulation. According to the mayor, it is too hot there in the summer and very cold in the winter.
