Přerov police opened their new headquarters today for 400 million

Přerov - The police in Přerov today officially opened their new headquarters. Over the past few weeks, around 220 employees have moved into the building worth nearly 400 million crowns, located near the Přerov exhibition grounds. The construction of the six-story building took two years. Until now, the police in Přerov operated from six different locations. This was stated by the head of the Přerov police, Jiří Zlámal.
    "This is historically the very first new police building in this region; we have never had a new facility. We have always been in older, often dilapidated buildings. Moreover, it simplifies the organization of work. It also has an impact on the economy. By being in one building, we save on phones and fuel," said the police director.
    He noted that one advantage should also be felt by the residents of Přerov. "People who come here will feel much better than when we were in the musty buildings," added Zlámal.
    The first police officers began moving into the new headquarters at the turn of March and April. "Not everything has been moved yet; some services will still be relocating during this week. But 90 percent is already in place. The operation was not disrupted during the move; we utilized evenings and days off for that," Zlámal added. The police had to relocate not only their own offices and files but also warehouses and archives to the new headquarters.
    After moving, the Přerov police will vacate the properties on Smetanova, Komenského, Hranická streets, and Na hrázi street. The rented properties will be returned, while those owned by the Ministry of the Interior will be sold.
    Residents of the city will now find, in the new complex, the district directorate, all branches of the criminal police and investigation services, the preventive information group, the weapons department, the economic section, the human resources department, the traffic inspectorate, and the district department from Předmostí all in one place.
