Prague - The inner block on Vybíralova Street in the Černý Most housing estate in Prague 14 will be reconstructed. There will be places for leisure activities and playgrounds, the sidewalks will be widened, and additional parking spaces will be created. Prague city councilors assigned the Technical Road Administration (TSK) today to create a project and transform the area. Deputy Mayor Adam Scheinherr (Prague Sobě) told journalists this after the council meeting today. The transformation of the inner block is planned to take five years.

The city has been preparing the project for a longer time and has collaborated with the residents. "It is a pilot project for the revitalization of Prague's housing estates. They have positive aspects, such as plenty of greenery, but there are also issues like neglect, lack of clarity in the space, or barriers," Scheinherr said.

According to him, the project is meant to serve as a model example of revitalizing housing estates. He noted that people only come to the estate, stay overnight, and leave for work again, but do not spend their leisure time there. "We want to change that," Scheinherr said.

The plan includes new road surfaces and wider, barrier-free sidewalks. The housing estate will see the planting of 250 trees and the creation of new, low-maintenance meadows. The areas around the buildings should be maintained by owners' associations, and the areas in the inner blocks by the municipal district.

The total investment costs are estimated at 386.9 million crowns. The price includes only construction-related costs. Prague 14 also has a project prepared for improving rainwater management or fencing the premises of the kindergarten in this location.
