After the weekend, the publication Wooden Buildings for Living will be released

The publication presents readers with a comprehensive view of the issues related to wooden buildings, focusing on residential structures. A number of similarly focused publications address segments of this issue at both a general and a technological, construction, or even illustrative level, but none addresses the issue comprehensively.
The authors' collective aimed to approach the issue in all contexts, (in the legislative and norm level of 2008), with construction and microbiological links to thermal-technical and acoustic interior comfort. Given the current foreign as well as domestic trend towards buildings with low energy consumption, the publication also includes chapters on energy-saving heating and ventilation. It is accompanied by references to valid legislation in connection with the implementation of low-energy and passive buildings and, unlike publications published as translations of foreign originals, it respects the requirements and standards currently applicable in the Czech Republic.
The book should therefore improve awareness of wooden buildings in all contexts among both professionals and the general public. It is primarily intended for architects, designers, investors, and the technical community dealing with this issue. At the same time, it will serve as a working and possibly educational aid. A number of realized projects in the country and especially abroad, along with their construction details, provide examples of problematic solutions that will serve as warnings for designers and potentially for future users.
In addition to traditional building materials, the individual chapters also describe variants of using less traditional - ecological materials (straw, clay) with a presentation of their fundamental physical properties and suitable application measures.
