Olomouc - Castles, churches, chapels, and rural estates in the Olomouc region will receive nearly 31 million crowns for their restoration. The money for the repair of cultural monuments, as well as urban heritage reserves and zones, will come from six grant programs from the Ministry of Culture. ČTK was informed about this by Vlastimil Staněk, spokesman for the Olomouc office of the National Heritage Institute (NPÚ). Support will go, for example, to the castle in Plumlov, but funds will also be allocated for the restoration of paintings and the repair of organs.

Over six million in grants from the program for the rescue of architectural heritage will mainly concern religious buildings and two castles. "One of them, the High Castle in Plumlov, will receive 800,000 crowns for moisture remediation," Staněk stated.

From the program that provides contributions for the most urgent repairs, particularly for the removal of emergency roof and load-bearing structure conditions, 4.5 million crowns will be allocated. According to Staněk, this will go towards the repair of three castles, seven churches, a monastery, a chapel, and also a house in a workers' colony in Olomouc-Hejčín.

Cities in the Olomouc region will receive over 9.5 million crowns from the program for the regeneration of urban heritage reserves and urban heritage zones. "This program provides contributions for the restoration of cultural monuments located in the most valuable parts of historical towns declared as heritage reserves or heritage zones," added the spokesman for the Olomouc NPÚ.

A total of 1.2 million crowns will be allocated to four rural estates and two churches from the program for the care of village heritage reserves, village heritage zones, and landscape heritage zones. Primarily, the monuments of folk architecture will be restored, such as agricultural estates, cottages, chapels, and wayside shrines. "In this round, funds from the movable cultural heritage restoration program have been allocated to religious institutions. In addition to the restoration of paintings, organs, chandeliers, baptismal fonts, confessionals, and side altars will be repaired. 1.9 million crowns are prepared for these works," Staněk added.

Additionally, 7.7 million crowns will be released for monuments in the region from the program for supporting the restoration of cultural monuments through municipalities with extended authority.
