Prague - Eight entities are interested in the former administrative seat of the Ministry of Interior in the center of Prague on U Obecního domu street. The only criterion for selecting a new owner will be the amount of the offered price. The ministry is asking for at least 350 million crowns for the building, said Jana Matějusová from the press department to ČTK. "The envelopes with bids have already been unsealed and their content is currently being assessed," she stated. The ministry has ten working days to make a decision from the date of delivery, which is June 6. "Until a decision is made, however, we cannot provide more detailed information regarding the bids or their amounts," Matějusová added. The building, which has seven above-ground and one underground floor, is currently vacant. The ministry no longer requires it. In 2003, it purchased the former Centrotex building in Prague 4 to consolidate employees into one headquarters. Some buildings of the Prague municipality will also likely be for sale, as it is moving to a single property on Jungmannova street. Currently, the office staff is located in more than thirty buildings throughout the metropolis. Their operation in a rented building is expected to benefit residents by allowing them to handle everything in one place. The move is set to begin on August 10 and conclude on September 20.
