Mostecký skyscraper SHD Komes was apparently purchased by a local businessman

Most - The third tallest building in the Czech Republic apparently has a new buyer. The twenty-five-story SHD Komes building in Most was purchased today by the company SaS Energo, owned by Josef Smolík, who is known as the owner of the local disco Neprakta. Equa bank is expected to acquire the lien on the property. This information was learned by ČTK from the land registry. The original owner of the property was Severočeské doly, owned by the ČEZ group. A source close to the sale told ČTK that the selling price is approximately 73.5 million crowns. The initial asking price was 120 million crowns.
     The twenty-five-story and 96-meter-high building is one of the most prominent landmarks of the seventy-thousand-strong city. Construction began in the 1970s and it was opened in 1984. It originally served as the headquarters for Severočeské hnědouhelné doly (SHD). Until the end of the century, it was the tallest building in the Czech Republic, except for church towers. It was surpassed only by two skyscrapers in Prague's Pankrác district. After 1989, the building came under the ownership of the newly established Severočeské doly (SD), which is based in Chomutov and offered the skyscraper for sale. The asking price was 120 million crowns.
       Now it is supposed to have a new owner, and there is a request for its registration in the land registry. "I don't have any information about the sale yet, but if it is in the land registry, then it must be true," said Vladimír Budinský, the strategy director of Severočeské doly. The company offered the skyscraper for sale in the summer of 2010, with the asking price being 120 million crowns at that time. A source close to the sale told ČTK on the condition of anonymity that the price for the transaction should be 73.5 million crowns. "Even if I knew the price, we wouldn't comment on it," Budinský responded.
       The main building is enormous. Its two-story base has the dimensions of a small hockey hall, from which rises a 96-meter high tower with a footprint of 34 by 17 meters. The real estate agency offers a total of 6853 square meters of office space and 3248 square meters of retail space. According to information from ČTK, the current usage of the building is relatively small and is mainly limited to the rental of offices and medical practices.
