The drawing for apartments in Prague 10 was also accompanied by tears of joy

Prague - For the fifth time, people gathered yesterday for the pre-Christmas lottery for apartments in Prague 10. The lottery, during which the names of twelve winners were read by the mayor of the district Vladislav Lipovský, was accompanied by joyful shouts and tears of happiness. This year, 108 applicants entered the competition, divided into three categories: young people under 30, families, and single parents with children. Four apartments were designated for each category.
    "I hope today we will bring joy to 12 people," began the lottery the deputy mayor of Prague 10, Bohumil Zoufalík, and his wish came true. Miroslav Rössler, who succeeded along with others in the families with children category, struggled to find words to describe his immediate feelings. "Just joy, happiness. Nowadays, to get an apartment and to get to the apartment... Thanks to Prague 10, which organizes such competitions, we managed to get it," the man responded, while his wife Barbora, standing next to him, wiped her tears.
    The first of the drawn single parents, Vlasta Svobodová, did not hide her emotion either. "I'm a little in shock. I have been waiting for this for such a long time, I no longer believed it would happen," Svobodová confided with tears in her eyes, holding her three-year-old daughter by the hand.
    All four winners in the first category for young people were women. Among the lucky ones were Marie Šlechtová, Lucie Zemanová, Kateřina Fuksová, and Andrea Tomašová. The names of the winners in this category were drawn by singer Petr Kolář, who sang several songs for the attendees before and after the draw. Both Lipovský and Zoufalík wished everyone present a nice holiday season and expressed hope that more lucky ones would receive apartments next year.
    Applicants who have permanent residency in Prague 10, do not own property or an apartment, and meet a minimum income requirement could enter the lottery. Prague 10 offered apartments this year ranging from small studios to the largest 60-square-meter 2+1. The rent is set at 55 crowns per square meter.
