Česká Třebová – The footbridge over the railway corridor in Česká Třebová in the Orlickoústecko region will begin to serve the public in June. It will replace the outdated underpass, and from the viewing platform, people will see the entire station. For the disabled, the footbridge will be operational by the end of the year. This was stated by Dušan Gavenda, spokesman for the Railway Administration.

"It will be an airy steel structure with a stainless steel mesh, the pillars and elevator shafts of the footbridge will be concrete. Similarly, the Eva footbridge, which we installed at the modernized station in Adamov, is designed," Gavenda said.

From Semanínská Street, the footbridge will have a viewing platform from which there will be a view of the railway corridor. This corridor is currently undergoing a major modernization, which will conclude around 2032. "According to the plan, large reliefs of locomotives will adorn the footbridge from both sides," Gavenda said.

The footbridge, which roughly follows the outdated underpass, will be about 120 meters long. It will span the entire rail yard from the parking lot on Bratří Hubálků street in front of the Korado company towards Semanínská Street, reaching the location where the underpass currently exits. The Railway Administration will later fill in this underpass.

Work on the footbridge is ongoing; currently, the central part is on the pillars, which will be complemented by the remaining structures after Easter. The installation of stairs, railings, and lighting will then continue. "We plan to open the footbridge around mid-June, but initially it will be accessible via stairs. Further work, including the installation of elevators, will continue into the second half of the year, and we anticipate its final commissioning by the end of the year," Gavenda said.

The footbridge is part of a large-scale modernization of the railway node in Česká Třebová, costing 20 billion crowns. Thanks to this, the maximum speed of trains will increase from 60 to 80 kilometers per hour. The project also includes the modernization of connecting sections to Třebovice in Bohemia, Opatov, and Dlouhá Třebová.
