Is Czech legislation prepared for EPBD II? Students are asking TODAY.

EPBD II must be perceived as one of the fundamental components of comprehensive architectural design
“In the coming years, it is expected that precisely through EPBD II the tasks committed by the Czech Republic, as one of the countries of the European Union, will be fulfilled. The fulfillment of these goals should be understood as a tool for environmentally responsible perception of architectural creation,” says doc. Ing. Chybík Josef, CSc., Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the Brno University of Technology and currently the moderator of this expert discussion forum.

The debate on the topic “EPBD II in the light of the possibilities of the Czech Republic” will take place in the auditorium of the Faculty of Architecture at VUT in Brno on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at 15:00, as part of the project Paths of Experience. The discussion forum will be attended by architecture students alongside experts who will present their views on the current Czech legislation and its impact on contemporary architectural creation and construction from the perspective of practicing architects, standard and regulation creators, and also teachers.

“These are topics that future architects must engage with already during their studies at university and particularly in this sense also process studio works. This is especially important, particularly in light of the fact that buildings account for up to 40% of total energy consumption in the European Union and approximately just under 30% in the Czech Republic,” adds Chybík. In addition to him, discussions will also include Ing. arch. Dalibor Borák, Ing. arch. Josef Smola, and Ing. Jiří Šála, CSc.
