The diaries comment on Kaplický's library

Prague - Lidové noviny (LN) comments on the design of the new National Library building by Jan Kaplický.
    The LN commentator writes that the story of Kaplický's library design in Letná is full of mistakes on all sides and questions how global Kaplický's victory really is. "Part of the information fog were also rumors - non-specific, unconfirmed, unrefuted - that the director of the library, Ježek, personally invited several world architects to participate in the competition, none of whom accepted. Now Ježek has finally published the list of names, and the speculations have been confirmed,” the paper writes.
    When asked why the architects did not respond, the commentator explains that they either felt that the competition was tailored to Kaplický, or that the Prague competition was not attractive enough for the elite. Neither explanation adds to the competition's globality, the commentator concludes.
