Cheb - The Cheb City Hall wants to develop unused gaps in the city. The city leadership is already in negotiations with some interested parties. In the future, it does not exclude the possibility of supporting these investments with money allocated for individual construction, deputy mayor Miroslav Plevný told reporters today. "We are primarily taking stock of the gaps in the existing development that would be suitable for building. It would not be about building family houses, but rather residential buildings," said Plevný. He cited as an example the long-empty space on Osvobození Street near the winter stadium. According to Plevný, one way to support the development of gaps is to utilize funds for residential construction. The city recently canceled a grant of 50,000 crowns for each completed housing unit, which, according to the city leadership, was not motivating for builders. However, these contributions cost the city about two million crowns a year. "I can imagine that this money could be used differently. Especially where the city is interested in development," stated Plevný. He said that often, builders are discouraged from construction by factors such as the lack of utilities leading to the plot, among others. According to Plevný, money could be used more effectively to remove these obstacles. Although more houses could be built in some gaps, Plevný believes it would be more appropriate to offer the gaps to investors as a whole so that the development is uniform and the individual buildings do not affect each other.
