The former park in the center of Brno will be filled with an administrative center

Brno - A new office building will start construction in the center of Brno this year. The eight-story complex at the corner of Benešova, Orlí, and Divadelní streets will offer 5,650 square meters of offices and shops, said Zuzana Opluštilová from the developer company OV comp to ČTK today. The building, costing 120 million crowns, will be largely glass, with a glass tower at its forefront.
The land near Malinovského náměstí is one of the last free plots in the city center. There used to be a small park there, but the land has been unused for several years. Now, a building designed by architect Boris Hála will rise there. In recent years, he has prepared several projects for bank headquarters, among others.
In recent years, the number of offices in the city center has significantly increased. In addition to spaces in older buildings, several structures have sprung up on Lidická Street or in the central náměstí Svobody.
They also compete with office complexes just outside the city center, including the Spielberk Office Center and Brno Business Park. More administrative spaces are being discussed in connection with the planned relocation of the train station south of the center. However, OV comp is confident about filling the spaces. "Of course, there are certain concerns, but we believe we will be successful," Opluštilová stated.
The plot opposite the planned OV comp building is still empty as well. A multifunctional building with the CD Palace hotel was supposed to be built there by now. The company Morávka, which prepared the project, already has a building permit but has not yet started construction. Its representative, Oldřich Vlašic, already told ČTK earlier that Morávka handed the project over to another investor. However, he did not want to reveal the name.
