Brno - The developer group RC Europe continues its expansion in Brno. After revitalizing the old post office building on Poštovská Street and renovating the residential building on Bratislavská Street, it has purchased the former Penam bakery on Cejl. The area, spanning 5700 m², is set for a complete reconstruction. However, the new owner wants to provide more detailed information about the project only when an agreement is reached with the owners of the surrounding parcels, said Miloslav Hartman, co-owner of the group, in a press release today. He did not disclose the price. "So far, we can say that our effort is to contribute to the beautification of this part of Brno," Hartman stated. In the vicinity of the former bakery is currently the building on Bratislavská Street, which the company purchased in a dilapidated state and has been serving as a rental apartment building for various types of clientele since last year.
Penam sold the area after completing a new bakery in Rosice, from which it supplies the entire region, making the Brno site redundant. "The decision to sell the area was also influenced by becoming acquainted with RC Europe's plans for the development of this part of the city and the experiences of this company from successful projects in the area," said Jaroslav Kurčík, CEO of Penam.
In addition to the rental building, the developer has renovated the building of the former post office on Poštovská Street from the late 19th century. It houses services and shops, offices, a gymnasium, and facilities for scientists from Masaryk University.
The company operates not only in the Czech Republic but also in Romania, Serbia, and Croatia, and has been on the market since 2005. It has been growing steadily, and its assets amounted to 26 million euros (661 million CZK) last year.
