Adamovský Skalák should no longer deteriorate, it has a new owner

Adamov (Blanensko) - In Adamov in the Blansko region, a nearly 100-year-old building known as Skalák should no longer be deteriorating. The structure resembles a small chateau in its architecture. During the First Republic, it was one of the well-known tourist destinations in the Moravian Karst. In recent years, the building fell into disrepair and became a gathering place for the homeless. It has now acquired new owners who are considering its use in tourism.
    "We bought the property at an auction. We want it to be used appropriately in the future. We will only be discussing what specifically could be established here," said Marcel Bojanovský from the Stonefield company, which purchased the building. According to him, he can envision a restaurant, guesthouse, or community hall within it.
    Skalák is one of the oldest buildings that have survived in Adamov. A hundred years ago, it was known to nature lovers as the Skalní sklep restaurant. It was one of the essential stops for tourists heading to the lookout tower Alexandrovka or to the Býčí skála in the Moravian Karst, formerly known as Moravian Switzerland.
    Later, the management of the industrial plant Adamovské strojírny, which produced printing and pumping machinery, moved into the building. Subsequently, the property received an unattractive annex and became a sports club. After the fall of communism in 1989, several companies cycled through the building. It deteriorated over the last ten years.
