In Berlin, a giant panorama of ancient Pergamon has been installed

Berlin - A giant panoramic image of the ancient Greek city of Pergamon, today's Bergama on the Turkish coast of the Aegean Sea, was installed on Friday on Museum Island in Berlin. Painter Yadegar Asisi hung the image in a special circular building constructed in front of the famous Pergamon Museum in the German metropolis.
    The panorama will be open to the public from September 30 as an attraction for a special exhibition about Pergamon as the center of one of the most important Hellenistic empires. For one year, the exhibition will showcase 500 archaeological finds from this location, most of which have never been presented before. The main attraction of the exhibition will be the beautifully sculpturally decorated Pergamon Altar, a permanent exhibit of the museum from which it takes its name.
    The author of the panorama, capturing the city of Pergamon at the height of its glory, first raised a 24-meter-high polyester canvas with the painting to the ceiling of the circular building, and from there, the canvas was drawn around the walls like a curtain until its ends met and joined. The audience will be able to view the image from a central "viewing tower." By the end of September, lighting and acoustic installations for the sound accompaniment must still be completed.
    Author Yadegar Asisi already has significant experience with panoramic images of cities. He has previously created panoramas for Leipzig and Dresden and has received great success.
