Architect Pavol Pokorný (*1969) is a prominent figure in the Slovak architectural scene, specializing in architectural work in energy-efficient standards.
A graduate of the Bratislava Faculty of Architecture (1993, prof. Ing. arch. Robert Špaček, CSc.) and a student of Swiss architect Justus Dahinden (1991-92 Vienna/Zurich), he co-founded the studio ŠTÚDIO FOR in 1996 along with Martin Kvasnica, Ján Lukáč, and Damian Berec (Chatam Sofer Memorial, St. Francis of Assisi Church, etc.).
Since 2001, he has been working independently as a certified architect SKA and in 2007, he established the studio POKORNY ARCHITEKTI.
Regarding the role of an architect, Pavol Pokorný says: “I perceive architecture as a fundamentally determining phenomenon of life, a fascinating phenomenon present in both material and spiritual experience simultaneously. In the profession of architecture, I am a humble guide for my clients in the labyrinth of this phenomenon.”
The exhibition presents works from the studio from 2008 to the present.
