New photographs of the Olympic stadiums for Beijing 2008

The Summer Olympic Games in China are rapidly approaching, and the local government intends to keep its promise to complete all major projects a year ahead of schedule. The following images demonstrate that they are likely to succeed this year: the rough concrete construction of the TVCC hotel is already practically standing, the steel skeleton of CCTV has 15 floors under construction, the shell of the swimming stadium is completely covered with air cushions, and the massive steel structure of the "bird's nest" - the main Olympic venue - is also nearing completion, with the first roof membranes being installed.
