Prague - Prague, Brno, Ostrava, and the Slovak capital Bratislava will present themselves at the three-day international real estate and investment opportunities fair MIPIM 2008, which will begin on March 11 in the French resort of Cannes. This was announced today by the Czech News Agency (ČTK) in a press release from Crest Communications, which is organizing the presentation of Czech cities and Bratislava at the fair.
The Czech capital will showcase the development area around the Smíchov railway station, the Hradčanská-Špejchar site, and the area U Čeňku, located between Černý Most and Dolní Počernice. In the first two locations, commercial, administrative, and residential centers are planned, while the U Čeňku area will serve as the foundation for a recreational park with walking paths, bike trails, and also a golf course.
Brno will primarily present industrial projects at the fair. These include, for example, the Czech Technology Park focused on advanced technology industries and strategic services or the Černovice Terrace, which is particularly oriented toward the processing industry. Another presentation of the Moravian metropolis is Europoint Brno, a structure mainly of a transport character, which will include a project for a new train station accompanied by disputes.
Ostrava will also focus primarily on industrial zones in Cannes. These include the Mošnov and Hrabová industrial zones, and brownfields in the center of Ostrava like Karolina and the Lower Vítkovice area will also be presented.
In addition to the three cities, several developers operating in the country will also present their projects in Cannes, such as Hochtief Development, Unibail-Rodamco, Sekyra Group, and CTP Invest.
Last year, 8,000 companies from 76 countries exhibited over an area of 24,000 square meters at the fair. It is attended by European and global investors, developers, banks, and financial institutions, cities, regions, and real estate firms.
This year's fair will take place from March 11 to 13, and it will also include a conference on urban development in Central Europe. The mayors of Prague, Bratislava, and Warsaw will present their perspectives.
