Isay Weinfeld is not only the most sought-after architect of contemporary Brazilian architecture but also a successful designer, set designer, and filmmaker. A comprehensive overview of his work will be showcased at the Az W architecture center in the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna. Weinfeld has created a sensitive, elegant, and modern architectural style with a Brazilian character. The Vienna exhibition brings Weinfeld's philosophy closer to the audience. It offers a spectrum of his work: from furniture and design objects, through the interior design of companies and restaurants, projects of family houses, office and residential buildings, to the redevelopment of squares and public spaces. The exhibition is a journey through the universe of his creativity. It leads from a door handle to an office building, from a theater stage to a McDonald's interior, from a cradle to a coffin, but also from an Instagram installation to still life, a bowl of fruit. Az W will also showcase projects from the fields of film and photography. As a filmmaker, Isay Weinfeld places great emphasis on storytelling and staging. In February 2014, Weinfeld won an architectural competition for the redevelopment of a centrally located area around the historic Vienna Skating Club (Wiener Eislaufverein), the Intercontinental Hotel, and the Konzerthaus (www.dasbesondereprojekt.at).
