I'm Young "Pollish" Architect! January 13, 2006 - March 5, 2006 opening of the exhibition - January 12, 2006, 7:00 PM Centre for Central European Architecture, U Půjčovny 4, 110 00 Prague 1
The fourth exhibition in the Young Blood cycle, which this time presents the youngest active architectural generation in Poland, is accessible to the general public from January 13 to March 5, 2006, at the Centre for Central European Architecture (CCEA) in Prague.
The essence of the experimental Young Blood cycle, which is a curatorial project of Prague's CCEA, lies in the confrontation of approaches taken by young architects from Central Europe in their understanding of the architectural profession and its practical functioning in their respective countries. Let's admit that we often know much more about what is happening in the field of architecture in England, Germany, or France than with our immediate neighbors. The Young Blood cycle was launched in June 2004 with the exhibition I'm a Young "Czeck" Architect!, in 2005 it continued with the Slovakian I'm a Young "Slowak" Architect!, and the Slovenian exhibition I'm a Young "Sloven" Architect!. In 2006, the project continues with the Polish exhibition, where a group of six Polish studios, selected by the curatorial team of CCEA, with an average age of up to 35 years, responds to the statement I'm a Young "Pollish" Architect!. The grammatical mistake in the name of the country is intended to provoke interpretation in the space of volumes 6.3m3. The spatial installations reflect individual experiences with architectural practice in Poland. They address the difficulties that young architects face in practice. The exhibition is accompanied by a trilingual catalog featuring portfolios of each studio.
