The exhibition project ARCHIczech is held under the patronage of Mr. Minister Karel Schwarzenberg and Ms. Deputy Minister Markéta Reedová, and has been included among the main projects within the Czech Republic's EU Presidency.
The project Month of Prague Architecture aims to introduce the German audience and the architectural community in Germany, as well as visitors to this cultural metropolis, to the current trends in Prague's and Czech architectural production. The project will be realized in three gallery spaces (Czech Center in Berlin, the building of the Czech Republic Embassy, and Deutsches Architektur Zentrum in Berlin). By combining five exhibitions, visitors will gain a more holistic view, as their themes and perspectives complement each other and map the Czech scene in very significant and audience-attractive areas.
The exhibition New Face of Prague presents the architectural happenings in a metropolis renowned for its history. Over fifty projects from the last twenty years showcase the changing face of Prague through its most interesting buildings, also addressing interiors and visions.
The series InterCity: Prague-Berlin annually presents the works of eight young Prague artists and their Berlin counterparts; this year's edition is dedicated specifically to architecture.
Green Architecture.CZ is an exhibition prepared as part of the exhibition project of the Jaroslav Fragner Gallery focusing on "green" buildings, ecology, and passive houses. However, Green CZ does not only emphasize economic parameters but seeks interesting examples of the connection between good architecture and environmental sensitivity in the Czech Republic.
The exhibition Věra and Vladimír Machonin will present the work of this very prominent architectural couple directly in the building of the Czech Republic Embassy in Berlin, showcasing their realizations. The exhibition will focus on projects and realizations from the sixties and seventies (e.g., OD Kotva, hotel Thermal, House of Housing Culture).
Project Generation+, prepared by CCEA, presents a comprehensive spectrum of the Czech architectural scene arranged chronologically.
Part of the project will be a cycle of lectures by leading Czech architects and theorists, which will offer a more detailed introduction to the development of Czech architecture after 1990 in the context of European development.
