Competition: Valencia del Mar – Marina Real Juan Carlos I

In connection with the 32nd edition of the America's Cup regatta, Valencia is experiencing a surge of development activity. Among other things, an international conceptual urban and architectural competition has been announced, focused on connecting the city and the port and designing an attractive waterfront. The results of the competition will be considered as directives for the urban development planning of the given location in the future.

The competition area covers 1.35 million m² (of which more than 1/3 is water surface). The competition is intended for professionals - architects and urban planners who have the appropriate qualifications (thus, the usual student sub-competition does not take place here). The winner will take home €150,000 (you read that right), the second €100,000, and the third €50,000. The jury can award three additional honorable mentions linked to €20,000.

The registration deadline is October 31, 2006, and submissions can be sent until January 31, 2006 (plus one week for delivery).
