Competition for the Tsunami Victims Monument

An international competition for artists, architects, and landscape architects has been announced in Norway to create a monument for the victims of the tsunami in Southeast Asia in December 2004. The site for the monument is located on the western shore of the Bygdøy peninsula in Oslo. The total construction costs should not exceed 2.5 million Norwegian kroner, it should be publicly accessible and quickly implementable (by December 26, 2006). The competition deadline is April 18, and the winner will be announced on May 5, 2006.
