New Home 2006

The Ministry of Regional Development in cooperation with the Czech Chamber of Architects announces the 5th annual single-stage, non-anonymous competition exhibition New Home of the Year 2006 (Realized buildings for housing, completed from 2005 to 2006).

The purpose and mission of the competition exhibition is to support all forms of quality architecture for housing, to commend and popularize quality realizations of buildings for housing (hereinafter referred to as buildings). The competition exhibition is announced in four categories:

• 1. new family house
• 2. new apartment building
• 3. reconstruction of an apartment building or another building for the purpose of permanent housing
• 4. construction of apartments in buildings of special purpose (homes with nursing services, sheltered housing)

The subject of the competition exhibition is buildings realized in the territory of the Czech Republic completed during the year 2005 or 2006 and not yet submitted to previous years of this competition exhibition.

In each of the 4 categories, a prize of 50,000 CZK will be awarded.

• Announcement of the competition - June 7, 2006
• Deadline for submitting questions - by June 30, 2006
• Deadline for answering questions - by July 14, 2006
• Submission of documentation of buildings submitted to the competition exhibition - September 22, 2006
• Date of the jury evaluation meeting - October 2, 2006.
• Deadline for announcing results - by mid-December 2006
• Public exhibition - December 2006
