Single-round conceptual public anonymous urban planning competition The subject of the competition was the development of a territorial development strategy, an urban concept, and a landscape arrangement concept for the entire administrative area of the municipality of Úholičy, consisting of the cadastral area 773239 Úholičy. Organizer: The municipality of Úholičy Competition conditions processor and competition secretary: RNDr. Milan Svoboda, U Lomu 139, 338 42 Hrádek Reviewer of competition proposals: Romana Klusoňová, Roztocká 6, 25264 Úholičy Competition deadline: September 25 – December 3, 2013 Jury: Václav Škarda, Jiří Plos, Marek Tichý, Terezie Kořínková, Jan Vaněk; substitutes: Jan Sedlák, Petra Studecká Total prizes and awards: 120,000 CZK
1st prize (70,000 CZK) - Ing.arch. Michal Dvořák, Ing.arch. Ivan Gogolák, Ing.arch. Lukáš Grasse, Ing.arch. Pavel Grasse Jury evaluation: A proposal from the group reflecting natural landscape conditions in the urban context, with a coherent vision of possible conceptual development of the municipality, a coherent opinion on the hierarchical structure of the municipality, with a well-managed processing method, very high-quality formal presentation, and corresponding informative value. The proposal respects the fundamental assumptions of the municipality, preserves the most valuable parts, and offers sensitive development of locations with development potential (places with hidden beauty). The jury considers the concept of the floodplain and water management, or the establishment of potential water surfaces in the area, as a not entirely realized opportunity.
2nd prize (50,000 CZK) - Projektis, s.r.o., Ing. arch. Lucie Cutáková, Ing. Arch. Michal Leňo Jury evaluation: The proposal includes quality and broadly based analyses of urban, landscape, and social aspects, projected into an economical, somewhat minimalist presentation with minimal interventions in the undeveloped area. However, some conclusions lack a certain schematic quality. The weakest aspect of the proposal is somewhat immature detailing solutions, such as the placement of sculptures on the way to Velké Přílepy.
3rd prize (40,000 CZK) - Ing. arch. Zdeněk Rothbauer, Ing. arch. Vojtěch Sosna, Ing. arch. Jakub Straka, Ing. arch. Michal Zaremba Jury evaluation: Another proposal primarily based on landscape analysis and starting points, significantly focused on detail with proposals for local interventions and solutions for certain individual spaces that the authors consider essential and defining for the development of the municipality, but which lack support in the actual situation. The jury appreciated the effort for specificity in the competition proposal; however, they consider the lack of better grounding of these specific proposals in a verified overall conception of the future development of the municipality as a certain weakness.
