Ládví – the center of the Ďáblice housing estate

MČ Prague 8 announces in cooperation with the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University an urban-architectural competition for university students on the design of the central space of the Ďáblice housing estate.

1st prize:  20,000 CZK
2nd prize:  15,000 CZK
3rd prize:  9,000 CZK

Goal of the competition
The aim of the competition is to find and award the most suitable ways of revitalizing the addressed space so that its form and function correspond to its significance and allow for a wide range of public activities. All proposals will be publicly presented and will serve as a basis for public discussion about a specific proposal for the redesign of the square.

Addressed area
The central square of the Ďáblice housing estate, located near the Ládví metro station and other public buildings, is the most significant public space of this modern urban district. However, its form and physical condition do not adequately reflect this fact. Since its establishment in the mid-1970s, the square has not undergone significant modernization and has been unable to reflect the changed social conditions over the past 40 years.
