Biography
Marco Rampini is a Swiss landscape architect living and working in Geneva. After his first introduction to architecture in the summer of 1984 at Harvard University, he began his architectural education and continued his studies at EPFL in Lausanne, graduating in 1990 under the guidance of Professor Roger Diener. He started his practice in the architectural office of Jean-Jacques Oberson. In 1999, he completed his postgraduate studies in architecture and landscape at the Geneva Institute of Architecture (IAUG) under the supervision of Georges Descombes and Michel Corajoud. In 2000, he co-founded the Geneva studio Descombes & Rampini with Julien Descombes. The firm's projects focus on public spaces, landscape architecture, and urban development. From 2004-05 and in 2006, he was a visiting professor at IAUG, and in 2010 at the Department of Architecture at EPFL, where he led project seminars. He regularly serves as an expert at EPFL and at the Geneva School of Landscape, Engineering, and Architecture (HEPIA). From 2005-10, he was a member of the commission of the State Fund for Contemporary Art (FCAC) and the canton of Geneva's planning commission (2010-14), and he is a member of the Geneva City Building Fund.
