Studentská vědecká konference a workshop
Institute of Design II Faculty of Architecture CTU in Prague and European Association for Architectural Education invite educators, students, academic and research workers, professional organizations, and architectural offices to a conference and workshop School of Architecture. Learning from Each Other. It will take place on November 29 and 30 at the Faculty of Architecture, CTU in Prague, Thákurova 9, Prague 6 – Dejvice, room 152/153.
The topic will be the relationship between architectural education and professional practice. The format is based on an intense debate among all participants. The goal of the conference is to share reflections and exemplary approaches to the education of architects from all over Europe, hence we need more voices and ideas than presentations. Participation in the debates is possible even without submission of an abstract. The conference will be held in English.
CHALLENGES
► What is the role of professionals from practice in architectural education?
► How can schools better utilize the knowledge and experience of professionals?
► What does teaching bring to practitioners and the architectural profession?
► How to lead a dialogue between the studio in school and architectural practice?
► What new insights into society, culture, and the environment can these two areas collectively bring?
► How can architecture schools effectively collaborate with professional organizations and chambers?
► How to educate future architects, urban planners, and landscape architects in an environment where the boundaries of professions are blurred and opportunities are broad?
School of Architecture. Learning from Each Other. follows up on a conference of the same name held at FA CTU in 2017 and heralds the EAAE conference to be organized by the Faculty of Architecture CTU in August 2020. It is also the first in a series of 5 workshops within the Education Academy EAAE.

OUTPUTS
The results of the conference will be presented in an abstract book. Provocative contributions will be selected as part of an international publication released by the Education Academy EAAE, which will gather the most interesting results from all five workshops.

To participate in the conference, it is necessary to register. For educators and students of CTU, participation in the conference is free.
