Nová česká architektura - výstava v DAM

The exhibition contemporary Czech architecture at Deutsches Architekturmuseum DAM (September 2026 – January 2027), on the occasion of the honorary guest appearance of the Czech Republic at the Frankfurt Book Fair, presents innovative projects and examples of good practice by young architects predominantly from the so-called millennial generation. It is a unique opportunity to familiarize the German public with the previously unknown, young Czech architecture and to strengthen professional and cultural relations. It builds on the legacy of the Tugendhat Villa in Brno, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (*27.03.1886) at the age of 42, as an iconic work of modernism. The exhibition includes 28 award-winning architectural realizations, mostly in regions outside of Prague, which support the multilocal character of exploring the Czech Republic. The curator of the exhibition is Helena Huber-Doudová from the National Gallery Prague.
The aim of the project is to make visible and celebrate contemporary Czech architecture in Germany and historical German architecture in the Czech Republic. The exhibition strives for international visibility and reach, connecting Czech, German, and international partners. The selection of projects and studios for the exhibition and accompanying publication is supported by consultations with partner institutions. For sustainability and long-term international presence of the exhibition, we are negotiating the acceptance of the project as a traveling exhibition of Czech centers.

The project More is Now! is co-organized by the National Gallery Prague and Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM) and is supported by the Czech-German Future Fund, which is a partner of the Year of Czech Culture and the honorary guest appearance.
