The Center for Modern Architecture Heritage presents another part of the spring lecture series, which this year is taking place in an online space. This time we will again return to the personality of the architect Otto Rothmayer and his close friend, photographer Josef Sudek. The lecturer will be Jan Mlčoch, curator of the photography collections at the Museum of Applied Arts in Prague.
The friendship between Josef Sudek /1896 Kolín n. L. – 1976 Prague/ and architect Otto Rothmayer /1892 Prague – 1966 Prague/, who met in the first half of the 1940s, was deep and mutually inspiring. The architect's villa in Prague's Břevnov and its garden became the subject of a number of photographs that made not only Sudek famous but also their creator. They allow viewers, even after years, to catch a glimpse into the intimacy of this enchanting place.
