The competition is announced for students of architecture and landscape architecture who have not reached the age of 30 at the time of the competition announcement and who meet all the requirements set forth in these competition conditions. The competition is intended for individual students, not teams, and is not intended for postgraduate students. The city of Kladno in the second half of the 20th century addressed the need for population growth by constructing housing estates in the cadastral area of Kročehlavy. Kročehlavy is the largest housing estate in Kladno, where approximately 27,000 people live in panel buildings. An advantage of this part of the city is the proximity of the Bažantnice Forest and the Na zabitém Forest, as well as easy access to the Oáza shopping center. Additionally, there is the Spirála facility (a leisure center for children). A significant spatial and functional dominant is the apartment building with barrier-free apartments. The addressed area is characterized by taller buildings and a higher population density. A typical feature of the current state of the area is the lack of mature trees between the buildings and problems with tranquility in transportation. The aim of the competition proposals is to address public spaces within the defined area, establish their hierarchy and character while concurrently addressing current problems of their use, creating a new identity for the place and supporting activities in outdoor space. The ground floor of the housing block will be addressed comprehensively with regard to the identified problems in the area. The proposal includes designing pedestrian and cycling paths, addressing parking, adding missing furniture, vegetation adjustments, and placing playgrounds for children, dogs, and other outdoor activities. It is also possible to propose a detail of a playground or a civic amenities facility, the location of which the author will justify in the proposal.
