The corner space of the former grocery store in the center of Český Těšín has transformed into a new optician's office with an eye doctor's practice. The investor's brief was simple from the beginning: to create a place,
“that does not yet exist in Těšín”.
The design plays with the contrast between the open, confident space of the optician and the calmer medical background. The central monoblock for displaying eyeglass frames became the main motif of the interior – a striking solitaire around which the entire operation is organized. The display windows facing Dukelská and Střelniční streets allow the interior to communicate directly with the public space and attract the attention of passersby.
The interior is based on layering colors, materials, and atmospheres. Striking yellow accents complement a monochromatic beige base and warm natural wood. Lively greenery also plays an important role – a motif symbolically referring to the Olša River and the surrounding landscape. The greenery appears as a natural element of life, variability, and movement within the space.
Furniture also plays a significant role in the interior. We included chairs from the Czech brand TON and the Polish brand PAGED in the project as a symbolic connection between the two banks of the Olša River, the Czech and Polish sides of Těšín. Just like the city itself, the entire interior works with the natural intertwining of two cultures, moods, and identities.
The project was developed in an intense dialogue with the investors and is the result of a shared search for the character of the place. Just like the Olša River, it is sometimes calm and at other times lively – but always in motion.
