The Pila House is built in the village of Zděchov in the Vsetín District of the Zlín Region. The site is located in the Protected Landscape Area of the Beskydy Mountains in the Vsetín Hills. The name Pila is derived from the client's profession - a carpenter who secured the construction of a wooden building, including the interior. The unique house is designed according to the wishes and requirements of the client and his family. At the same time, strict construction regulations of the Protected Landscape Area are taken into account.
The orientation of the house is determined not only by the main entrance and the access from the road but also by the optimal sunlight and privacy of the residential part of the house. The teeth of the saw divide the mass of the house into three sections: the technical area, the social-relaxation area, and the private area for the parents. The character of the house is expressed not only by the mass solution but, above all, by the careful selection of high-quality durable materials such as wood, metal, and compact facade panels.
The interior combines quality natural materials with calm earthy tones. The grain of the wood stands out on the floor, in the rafters, and in the carpentry furniture made by the client. In the minimalist interior, objects made of solid wood are emphasized, such as a dining table combined with epoxy resin and stumps by the sofa, which will last the client forever. The rooms are equipped with comfortable furniture, supplemented by sitting windowsills with beautiful views of the landscape.
The first section contains the entrance hall, a garage with a technical room, and a storage area in the attic. The central area is concentrated around a spacious communal zone open to the rafters, including a living room, dining room, and kitchen. The adjoining relaxation zone for the children consists of two rooms with utilized attic space for sleeping. The last section forms the relaxation zone for the parents, complete with their own dressing room and bathroom. Hidden in the attic above them is a guest room. The living rooms are oriented to the southwest side of the property, where there is a large garden with a covered pool.
