The house is located in Plzeň on the western edge of the Bory housing estate, in the immediate vicinity of Borský park. The western edge of the estate is lined with high-rise buildings. With the massing solution of the house, we complement this original structure, but in the design of the residential building itself, we tried to respond to the general shortcomings of housing estates, such as the lack of parking, mono-functionality, absence of private green spaces, lack of private outdoor areas, and absence of quality public spaces. The addressed building has 14 floors and consists of a horizontal part with internal parking and non-residential spaces, which connect to the paved area in front of the house, and a vertical part, where there are 13 floors of apartments of various sizes. The main orientation of the apartments is to the west, both for sunlight and for the view of Borský park and beyond the city limits. The western, northern, and southern facades are encircled by continuous loggias, which provide ample private outdoor space. The continuous loggias are connected to semicircular planters for greenery, which also create a distinctive structure for the facade. The planters also function as railings, and irrigation of the planters is ensured by a water distribution system in the railing's handrail. The facade of the residential floors is treated with ribbed plaster. The facade of the horizontal part is clad in wood. The interior of the common areas is designed in a combination of exposed concrete surfaces and bold colors of the individual floors. The design also included a proposal for a forecourt made of concrete paving with a regular grid of circular openings for trees, which connects to the concept of the facade design with greenery.
