Josef Pleskot was born in 1952 in Písek. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague in 1979. He then worked until 1990 at the Regional Project Institute in Prague. In 1991, he founded AP - ATELIER based in a renovated former small factory in Prague - Holešovice. In his work, he drew inspiration from the Czech modern tradition, exploring the possibilities of postmodernism and neofunctionalism in the 80s. Through his creative interpretation of architectural expression, he was able to apply a variety of architectural forms in a specific way and address a wide range of projects, from villas, town halls, natural trails and tunnels to the revitalization of riverbanks with residential areas, the construction of a large administrative complex, or the reconstruction of a former brewery for new purposes. His works include the town hall in Benešov, a villa in Vrané nad Vltavou, a natural trail in Jelení příkop and the passage of the earthworks of the Powder Bridge in the area of Prague Castle, the Palmovka - Park office building in Prague - Libeň, the adjustment of the Loučná River waterfront, residential buildings, and the reconstruction of the castle brewery in Litomyšl. Recent completed projects include the ČSOB complex in Prague - Radlice or the Sonberk winery building. The work of the Josef Pleskot studio cannot be overlooked in Czech architecture of the last two decades.
