Vysoké Mýto (Orlickoústecko) - The sculpture Lonely Moon in Havlíčkova Sady in Vysoké Mýto will be in a modest variant. The city rejected the fountain that was to surround it because it seemed too expensive to the councilors. The spokesperson of the city hall, Marie Lněničková, said this to journalists today. "With the water element, the Lonely Moon would cost 2.1 million crowns, without that water feature it was 600,000 crowns," said Lněničková. An additional 200,000 crowns were spent on landscaping and benches. Moreover, the councilors originally proposed the water features themselves. The circular fountain was supposed to consist of 12 seating areas and one symbolically represented figure. A seated person would activate the water spring. If all 12 spots were occupied, all the springs would shoot water. The sculpture, which is the work of artist Klára Klose from Pardubice, will be officially unveiled in Vysoké Mýto on Earth Day, April 22.
