Ústí nad Labem - The company Czech Property Investments (CPI) plans to build a complex consisting of a hotel and an administrative-commercial center in Ústí nad Labem by spring 2009. Company spokesperson Michaela Winklerová told ČTK that they are only waiting for the building permit to be issued. The company is negotiating with the city of Ústí nad Labem regarding parking spaces.
The construction of the complex is expected to cost approximately 500 million crowns. The four-star hotel will have 86 rooms with 172 beds and a congress hall for 250 people. Other parts of the complex will include offices and shops, and the project also plans to construct apartments. A small square with greenery will be created on the site, which has been completely empty since the 1980s.
According to Deputy Mayor Jan Řeřicha, the city has not yet granted permission for the building permit mainly due to the small number of parking spaces that are planned to be created here. The project anticipates that 211 cars will be able to park underground, but the Ústí nad Labem city hall is demanding 350 spaces. The construction will occupy an already utilized parking lot, and there is a critical shortage of spaces in the center of Ústí nad Labem. According to Řeřicha, CPI has proposed a solution to the situation. The spaces will be created not directly in the complex but in its immediate vicinity.
CPI operates in the field of development and investment in the real estate market in the Czech and Slovak Republics. It focuses on the construction and leasing of commercial properties as well as the development of hypermarkets. The group is also active in the hospitality and congress industry, as well as in the preparation of industrial zones and logistics parks. The value of its managed assets exceeds 13 billion crowns.
