On October 23, 2006, we informed you about the intention of the offices OMA and Porsche to build two skyscrapers in Dubai - here. At that time, however, no images could be published at the client's request. Only on December 4, 2006, could the visualizations and drawings of the mentioned project finally be presented. The offices divided the work as follows: OMA will design the exterior shell, and Porsche will then complete the interior. The published illustration shows two towers: a residential one with 30,000 m² and an office one with 85,000 m². The main architectural task was to minimize the effect of intense sunlight on the building. The rectangular administrative building is therefore framed by side wings and a canopy that will create its own shade. The facade of the building is intended to feature highly reflective glass panels that will only slightly resist thermal load. The residential tower takes the form of a cylinder, inside which a huge atrium spanning the entire floor will provide natural lighting and ventilation for the building. Link>
