The specialized selection exhibition of lighting, design, and accessories Light in Architecture takes place every two years, and its 4th edition will be held in the newly reconstructed environment of the Mánes exhibition hall in Prague from April 8 to April 11, 2015.

The exhibition Light in Architecture is primarily aimed at professionals – it is intended for experts, architects, designers, and civil engineers from across the Czech Republic. The event will feature the most significant companies in the field, which will present the latest innovations, modern technologies, and top-notch design of domestic and foreign lighting fixtures in a relatively limited exhibition space of the gallery. The exhibition has partnered with the Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians (ČKAIT), and the professional media partners of the exhibition are the magazine Světlo, EARCH, and Archiweb. A catalog will be published for the exhibition, which every registered professional visitor will receive with their ticket.

The general public will also have the opportunity to view the exhibition during the last two days, namely on Friday and Saturday.
In addition to the offer of professional lighting systems and fixtures, there will also be student projects and lighting designs on display – students from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, led by Professor Ferdinand Chrenka, will present their exhibition.

Contemporary architecture from Czech and foreign architectural firms will be represented at the exhibition Light in Architecture through architectural models.

Traditionally, in cooperation with the professional magazine Světlo, the organizer of the exhibition, Czech Architecture Week, will again award prizes. The exhibits presented at the exhibition will be evaluated by a seven-member expert jury composed of Prof. Ing. Jiří Habel, DrSc., head of the lighting technology laboratory at FEL ČVUT, Václav Zeman, Secondary School of Mechanical and Transport Engineering in Děčín VI and long-time expert teacher in the field of design of lighting objects at the Glass Industrial School in Kamenické Šenov, architect Ing. arch. Luboš Sekal, academic sculptor Karel Novotný, lighting design, designer and academic architect Jiří Kočandrle, Ing. Jiří Novotný, editor-in-chief of the magazine Světlo, and architect Ing. arch. Miroslav Řepa. The awards will be presented during a ceremonial evening for the exhibition.

The exhibition Light in Architecture will thus again provide professionals and architects with an interesting opportunity for a joint meeting, exchange of information, and familiarization with innovations and world trends in a pleasant intimate yet working atmosphere in the center of Prague in the unique functionalist environment of the Mánes exhibition hall.
