Vnorovy – The banks of the Morava River in Vnorovy, in the Hodonín region, will be connected by a new footbridge for 51.5 million crowns. The bridge, 63.5 meters long and more than five meters wide, will serve pedestrians and cyclists, representatives of the region announced today during the groundbreaking ceremony for the bridge. Completion of the construction is planned for March next year.

The region has been preparing the construction since 2017. "The new bridge represents not only a significant infrastructure element that will contribute to increased safety and the smoothness of bicycle traffic in the Baťa Canal area, but it will also enhance the tourist attractiveness of the region and improve everyday accessibility for local residents," said Deputy Governor Jan Zámečník (KDU-ČSL).

According to Deputy Governor Marek Sovka (TOP 09), the arch-structured bridge will have two separate bidirectional lanes, each two meters wide, ensuring smooth and safe operation for both pedestrians and cyclists. "The project includes not only the construction of the bridge itself but also the installation of necessary infrastructure, including connections, a well, and the improvement of the dam, which will be reinforced and widened," added Sovka.

The work on the bridge will cost 51.5 million crowns, including tax, of which 42.1 million crowns will come from European funds. Originally, a transporter approximately 63 meters long was planned to connect the riverbanks, but the region has abandoned the construction of the transporter for operational and economic reasons.
