Prague – The Central Bohemian Region will contribute nearly 12 million crowns to the project for a new school complex in Roztoky near Prague, where a second level of elementary school and a high school is expected to be added by 2028. The regional representatives decided on this today. The regional government already committed in a memorandum two years ago to contribute half of the costs for the administration of the architectural competition, the preparation of project documentation, as well as the construction and equipment of the school complex.

The area called Campus Cihelna will help, according to the regional councilor for education Milan Vácha (STAN), to address the insufficient capacity of high schools in the Prague-West district. "The new school complex with modern learning spaces will have a capacity of 480 students, of which 240 will be for high school. The intention is to build a second level and a high school next to the recently constructed elementary school for the first level," Vácha stated.

The design of the campus emerged last year from an architectural competition. The winning proposal was authored by Karel Trachta, Jan Cyrus, Dominik Haviar, Maxim Didunyk, Iana Lauda, and Přemysl Halámek from the Prague studio Ofstone. The project documentation will be based on this design.

Preliminary construction costs could be around 400 million crowns without VAT. The exact amount will come from the project and the tender.
